
Stop Fiddling With Single Lamps—Go With Curved Modules
Most people start their glass tube annealing setups the old-fashioned way: buy a single infrared lamp, wire it up, and just hope the heat hits the right spots. It’s a bit of a guessing game. We do things differently. Instead of leaving you to figure it out on your shop floor, we build integrated, curved heating modules in our factory and ship them ready to go.
Why the curve actually matters
Here is the thing about straight lamps—they aren’t great at hugging a cylinder. You end up with annoying hot spots in some places and cold zones in others. By bending the quartz envelopes to match the actual radius of your tubes, we get the heat source much closer to the glass. That means less heat escaping into the air and a much faster ramp-up. It’s just more efficient. Now, we can dial in the voltage and wattage to fit your needs. If you want a smaller footprint, we can go with high-wattage density. Just a heads-up: make sure your control cabinet can handle the current draw so you don’t fry your contactors.
No more “assembly required”
We aren’t just sending you a lightbulb in a box. You get a full module. It comes with the reflectors, the brackets, and the connectors already wired up. You just drop it in. No more spending hours squinting at the setup trying to get the alignment just right. It saves a ton of time. Plus, you don’t have to worry about accidentally snapping a fragile tube while you’re fiddling with clips. We handle the delicate stuff so you don’t have to.
The trade-off (Keep an eye on your temps)
There is a catch, though. Because curved modules concentrate heat so aggressively, your window for temperature control gets a lot smaller. If your PID tuning is off, you might overshoot the annealing point. That’s how you get thermal shock and cracked glass. To keep things stable, you’ll want to be really picky about where you place your thermocouples. It’s a powerful tool, but you’ve got to keep it on a tight leash.
