Stop Fighting Bathroom Mold with a Towel
Most bathroom heaters are pretty lazy. They just warm up the air, which then floats straight to the ceiling, leaving you shivering on a cold floor. We decided to do things differently. Our infrared lamps don’t just “warm the room.” They target the damp spots where mold loves to hide and dry them out fast.
How it actually works
Think of it like the sun. You know how you feel the heat on your skin even if the air is chilly? That’s basically what’s happening here. Instead of pushing hot air around, these lamps send out waves that travel in a straight line. When those waves hit your damp walls or tiles, they get deep into the surface. They shake up the water molecules, causing that annoying condensation to evaporate way faster than it would on its own. It’s not just about staying warm while you brush your teeth. It’s about stripping away the moisture mold needs to survive. No water, no mold. Simple.
The gear
We use 1500W ceiling units that pack a punch. To make sure all that heat actually reaches your floor instead of getting trapped in the bulb, we use quartz glass. Once you get these wired into your ceiling, you’ve basically created a “dry zone” right under the lamp. Because it hits the fixtures so hard and fast, the dampness doesn’t stand a chance.
A few things to keep in mind
Now, these things put out a lot of heat. Like, a lot. If you mount them too low, you’re going to feel like you’re standing under a heat lamp at a buffet—and you might even set off your smoke detector. You’ve got to get the height right based on how big your bathroom is. And just a heads-up: you still need your exhaust fan. The lamp is great for drying the surfaces, but you still need a way to push that evaporated steam out of the house.
