Getting the Power Right
Replacing a burnt-out tube isn’t as simple as just measuring the length. If the voltage and wattage are off, you’re asking for trouble. Here’s the thing: if you’re running a high-voltage system, we carefully calibrate the tungsten filament density. We make sure it hits your required wattage exactly. Why? Because a mismatch usually means uneven heating or a filament that snaps way too soon. We make sure the heat feels exactly like the original part, so your process doesn’t skip a beat.
The Stuff We Use
We use high-purity quartz glass because it can take the brutal thermal shock that comes with infrared work. Depending on what you’re actually doing with the lamp, we can add halogen gas fills to help the tube last longer and put out more light. As for the fit, we use standard R7s or SK15 connectors. They’redrop-in replacements. You won’t have to mess with your wiring or carve up your lamp housing just to make it fit. You just plug it in and go.
A Few Honest Tips
These lamps are built for speed and high heat density, which is great for fast ramp-up times. But there’s a trade-off. If you push a tube to its absolute max wattage, it puts a lot of stress on the quartz seals. One more thing:keep your reflectors clean. If they get oxidized, the lamp has to work twice as hard to hit the right surface temperature. That’s a shortcut to a shorter lifespan.
