A Few Things to Watch Out For
You can’t just wing the installation. If you’re installing these in “zone 1” bathroom areas, you need a sealed housing and the right IP-rated connectors to keep the water out. And here is a big one: these tubes put out a ton of heat in a small space. If your housing isn’t vented properly, you’ll melt your internal wiring. It doesn’t matter how tough the tube is if the box around it is cooking itself. Just make sure your enclosure is actually built for the wattage you’re plugging in.
